Grub, will you need to move the saw once it’s in place? A riser will make that difficult, I think (I imagine it will make the built in lift pretty much useless).

If not, it’s got to be cheaper (you could probably build a good riser out of the pallet the saw came on), and I can’t think of any reason why it would make the saw unsafe, if you build it sturdy enough. If you’ve got the extension, you’ll need riser blocks for those legs too.
