Sorry you have problems with older used equipment. I have worked on/repaired/made parts for newer tools for a few of my friends. Stay away from the Sears/clones that use aluminum parts in the fence adjusting mechanism. Once they get a little dent in the wrong spot, you are stuck fighting it always indexing to the wrong angle. PS, the parts are no longer available to correct problem. I would still try to find and old cast iron Delta or Powermatic. The 6” Deltas are easy to find, simple to work on, and hold their accuracy. $200 or less should buy a good one. Stay away from the old Craftsman jointers that do not have both tables adjustable.
