Hi, been a while since l have posted mainly due to personal problems and my health.
After last year seeing how many here on LJ's made such awesome christmas presents for friends and loved ones, l want to attempt this year myself to make a few gifts.

Two years l made a solid oak bookshelf for my daughter inlaw's nephew.
He loved it he then was a bit over a year old, it touched me how he shows everyone. He displays his story books a few toys on it.

My daughter inlaw her sister wants to decorate his room around the soild oak shelf.
He asked his mom to ask me, if l would make him a matching toy box for christmas, he said santa clause won't mind.

Now he has a brother 18 months old, so l need to make 2 toy boxes.
She wants it 3 ft long about 18 inches high not sure deepth likely 20-24 inches.

She wants seat to lift up with the back and sides to come above seat so he won't fall off when he sits on it.
I have been looking on line for some plans, but haven't found any yet.

So l thought l would go to the best source l know, my buddies at LJ's.
If anyone has an idea's or a web site where l can order plans be great.
I think best ton use 3/4 inch oak plywood not sure of hinges or lid support to use.

I look foreword to hearing from my buddies.
Thanks James

Make sure you have some ventilation holes in the toy box. We have gone through two store-bought toy boxes and both had them. I believe they had one on each end, about 2 inches in diameter, just in case a kid gets stuck in it. Or, in our case, our daughter got in and her little brother sat on the lid! We rescued her and she clobbered him, if I recall. Oh, the joys of parenthood. Oh yes, we'll require pictures of the toy boxes when completed.

Thanks Jack1, with your suggestion, yes l have for the past year been thinking about small business production plan. Going to start after christmas will have new table saw/router table by then as well as many more clamps etc at other house.
Run into structure problems ended up spending nearly $ 20,000 to replace about 70-80 ft of rim joist and sil plates and about 30 ft of exterror walls and another 25 ft of garage outside walls then $ 3,300.00 to remove all windows, doors plus 2 patio doors from bad work first installer installed improper so set me back in all just over $ 24,000 for work not in budget that includes all new siding could save siding removed to replace joice plates.

But anyway checking into best way and cost to box and ship things like shelves, dvd storage units coffee table sets and if would be worrth to do.
If not will continue to sell locally takes my mind of above mess lol.
Thanks again jack1
