Just wait until you are climbing up a ladder or catch the pencil on something else and extend the pencil retriever to it’s max then it lets loose and snaps you in the teeth or someplace worse!! Then you will not think it is such a handy tool.

I had one and I tossed it after getting ‘snapped’ one too many times! But, I used to clip it on my shirt pocket.
