$1000 is stupid high IMO… It has a lot to do with location, but there is a beautifully restored PM50 on a mobile base down here right now with an asking price of $400, which I would consider about the upper end on price.

And no matter what you go with, unless it’s been recently restored (like the one above) and/or you know for sure, figure on another $50-$100 for bearings, new knives or existing ones sharpened, new belt, etc…. on top of what you pay for the machine.
