Mostly you’ll find bargains on broken stuff that needs work, obsolete
things, and in some situations where the seller is specifying local
pickup only.

To be sure, sometimes seller post things as BuyItNow listings at
bargain prices. I picked up a 8 piece set of Marples heavy duty
chisels recently for about $50 because the seller listed them
as BuyItNows – he almost certainly would have got closer to $80
for the set if he’d let them run as an auction.
