Funny. I was just reading this page about crucible steel two days ago. I managed to buy an Butcher saw on ebay and they also had a Vulcan saw which were made by Harvey Peace when he moved his manufacturing from England to the US. He brought craftmen from Sheffield,UK to start his venture in the US. One of the characteristics of his tools was that they were made of crucible steel like most of old Sheffield tools.
