Wow, that was a pretty good eye to catch the similarity. It sure is the same pic….strange how the web page builder used yours – most are aware of copywright infringement….and would only use pics that are in the public realm….or use their own pics.

My company hired a web builder also…and they used a pic from the web…..we got a letter from some company offering to settle for an amount for “renting” the picture…and were required to remove it from our page….we confirmed that they indeed owned the rights (to make sure it wasn’t some scam)....and removed the pic….we also had to pay a settlement amount to insure they would not sue us (they wanted alot of money to puchase the rights to use it) you can see the danger here.

If you are concerned about the pic, contact them and have it removed….or ask them to pay an amount for it’s rights or for “rental.” Most would rather pay then remove the pic. I am not sure that you would have to indicate that this is copywrighted or not on the original pic…I am not a lawyer so that would have to be answered by someone with more knowlege of this area of law.

If you consider this a compliment….then certainly leave it be…you can direct folks to see your pic on the web whenever you want…interesting.
