GaryK-I run a planer 8-10 hrs a day, I’m the third generatoin to do this, ive grown up around planers/moulders so i think i have a pretty good idea on troubleshooting, yes there are other things that can contribute to a snipe other than roller pressure: a high knife, too fast feed speed, debris on table, trying to peel to much off in a single pass, improper chip breaker pressure, figured stock, twisted stock, beaver tails, or knots. We pride ourselves on having the best finish around on our lumber/millwork, and we handle around 10-12,000 bd ft a day. Im not some hot shot kid who thinks i know everything, ive been doing tihs for a long time, when i was in kindergarten i brought in a piece of trim for show and tell i had help make over a break in school, that was 16yrs ago. So if you have more experience great for you and share the wealth on here.
