I have the Bosch and love it. People sometime knock it because it doesn’t have a laser … I think there is a Dewalt video out there saying that the glide mechanism is prone to more deflection and the dewalt (780) has a bigger cut capacity. That being said, I love the glide mechanism on this saw and unless you are doing compound angles on really wide stock, you won’t really miss the bigger capacity. The glide mechanism also allows it to be put up against a shop wall if space is an issue. Most slides (with the exception of the Festool and some Hitachis) require quite a bit of clearance on the back end – like these dewalts. I personally think the laser guides are overrated but you can get an add-on one that mounts to the arbor of the bosch but it will only work well using it inside (not bright enough for outside use) and only turns on when the blade is moving.

If those are show stoppers, I would look at the 780 as a more well matched competitor to the bosch.

p.s. i also love the fact that the mitre AND bevel controls are upfront on the bosch and the markings are very easy to read.
