To MacGuyver, or not to MacGuyver... That is the question.

I lost the yellow safety tab that clicks into power switch for my lathe (sorry, I don't know the terminology). Does anyone know where I can get a replacement? Or is it possible to make one?

And yes, I have been using a tab from another tool in the meantime, I just want a more permanent fix.

Thanks!!!

Evangogh,

If the lathe is a Craftsman, which uses the yellow removable switch safety keys, I recall seeing replacements in a two in the Sears store which would probably fit. However that has been several ago. Checking Sears.com may reveal whether these are available in you local store. If the lathe is not a Craftsman, maybe the Craftsman safety key would still work. Again checking the web might give you some idea whether it might fit. As recall the two pack was fairly inexpensive.

There are precious few things in this life that are absolutes. But when given the opportunity to be MacGuyver, the answer is always yes. Just make sure you aren't actually being Red Green. It's hard to tell in some cases, until it's too late.
