IMHO don’t buy either, hold-out for the 18v lithium ion (over the 10.8v and 14.4).

I bought a Makita 18v kit 5-6 years ago and last year (Popular Mechanics?) found Makita’s 18v cordless drill tops. You can never have too much torque or staying power. Doesn’t sound right… you’ll like the power of the 18v. [Oops, 2nd ShaneA’s comment.]
