Starting about a month ago, when I view a project, then click on one of the additional pictures, I get an image that is huge and often so pixelated that it is incomprehensible. Not on all projects, but probably about 60-70% of them. Prior to a month ago or so, I never had this happen. Has something on the site been changed? Does it have to do with the images being loaded by the person posting? I am not clicking zoom, just the image. I'm using a MacBook Pro, but cannot see where that would matter. Any help would be appreciated so I can view the additional project pictures at the correct size.

Damien,
I just tried the following: lumberjocks.com/projects/49223
At first, the project page looks fine. When I click on an additional pic, it becomes larger than it should, and slightly pixelated… I see about half the pic. When I then click on a second additional pic, it goes huge and so pixelated that it is unintelligable. Strange. I have emptied the cache.

All browsers have a way to enlarge text to make it more readable. For some reason LJ's does not deal well with this feature. If you bring the text down to a size that is 'original' the pictures will not do this. You also have to refresh the page after dong this. In my experience it also makes the little pictures in the 'projects' and 'blog' that slide to the left and right on the main page not line up well when slid.
On my browser this feature is in the tool bar and is designated by a 'aA' it is a feature turned on in the 'customize toolbar' menu item. It may be different on your browser. I use Safari.
Craftsman,
Thanks for the info. I'm also using Safari. Played around a bit with the resizing and at first it seemed to solve the problem, but as I experimented more the issue seems to still be with me. If you are getting good images, it seems logical that the issue is with my Mac, though I have not changed any settings recently, but something is going on.
I have the touch pad that lets me resize, and I frequently kick the size of type up a little, but why it only seems to affect some of the project pics and not others is still a mystery to me. Any other suggestions? I'm at a loss.

Yes, and it will fix things. Remember that if you resize it later on and go to a page you not only have to put the size back to standard but also refresh the page. Keeping clicking on that page to look a pictures even after resizing will not work right. The ipad resizing thing is very different and does not affect things like on the computer.
The size has to be at the correct setting. If it's of on notch the pictures will look okay initially but as you move to the next one the effect will multiply itself. The larger you resize the more pronounced the effect.
Thank you, thank you! I think you have indeed solved my problem. What you describe is exactly what I am experiencing. Why it only began a month ago, I will never know, but your explanation works. I was not refreshing, and hence it was not going away. Many thanks again.

TADA! I used to do this stuff for a living in schools. I was a science and later a computer teacher in Maine at the time our governor decided to purchase laptops for all kids starting at the 7-8th grade. I managed thousands of Apple laptops and fielded hundreds of questions like this every day.
Definitely came to the right place to fix that problem
