Parquet red oak leaf, huh?

Does he want it to match, or is he giving you carte blanche?

If you were going to try and match it, it certainly could be done, but you’d probably want to at least strip the entire top down and apply the same finish over the entire top if you really want it to match. It might be good to use some sort of dye/stain/toner or something as well in order to get all of the oak the same tone/color. You could certainly just build the leaf and then have him do the stripping/refinishing.

I’m not really a parquet fan, so I would probably personally turn it down, but then again, it’s not my friend. Is he going to reasonably compensate you for it, or is it more of a “favor”?
