I like your suggestion on the leather crafting idea that could be included in with woodworking. Besides woodworking, bass fishing, and a few other “hobbies”, I also do leather carving and stamping. Been doing that for about 30 + years…. Also being a musician, I guess you could say that I specialize in instrument straps (i.e. guitar, banjo, belts, etc. I use to carve pictures and other assortments, but haven’t did that in several years. I have all the stamps (well, not all but about 130), dyes, finishes, patterns etc. I may go for a long, long time, and never do any stamping, and BAM!. Here in the last 2-3 weeks, I’ve carved and stamped 2 guitar straps…one for a local, and one I’m working on now that goes to Texas….so to do it for others is a “hit or miss” thing. I’ve thought about putting the two together, and it’s been done… I’ve carved somethings and built picture frames to mount them in… so it’s possible… besides, it’s easier on the old back setting in a chair and working that way….lol. Don’t know if Martin would go for it, but it would be interesting. I’ll be glad to post a couple of pictures of things I’ve tooled, if anyone’s interested to see them…..Thanks, Bob…..
