General info: On my older Biesmeyer, the tension is adjusted with two Allen set screws on the fence part that runs inside the rail. They adjust for squareness as well.

Second, those pads—and I called Biesmeyer for this info when I bought mine used—are just laminate samples. Wilsonart, Micarta, whatever. I use the marbley ones for the surface that rides on the table and the regular finish ones for the lever that operates off the cam.
