I like worm gears just because they are "right handed" if you know what i mean. But I hate their weight and expense. I came across this last fall at Lws for less than $90 and wish I had snagged it:

Any current or former owners of this model out there with an opinion?

I already use two Carftsman C3 5 1/2" "baby worm gears" just to keep the 7 1/4" in the case. I have plenty of batteries, but there is something to be said for corded tools.

I've had one for about a year now. I have to say that I "like" it, it works, but I'm not overly pleased with it either….in a nutshell I'm disappointed that it's not what it could be. I like that it's small, and I like the view of the blade on the left, but I find that motor power is pretty weak, blade selection is limited, and aside from having real ball bearings there's very little about the saw that warrants the ~ $100 price tag IMHO.

My review.
