I have spoken to several people that rank the ritter as an excellent machine…saying it is slightly above the powermatic and significantly better than the delta or jet, but I haven’t heard anything on the quality of the newer General International machines. If I was comparing apples to apples I would probably go with the Ritter, as it has an excellent reputation. My problem is Ritter doesn’t make a smaller unit, so if I chose Ritter I would need to get a machine signficantly larger (the Ritter 911 model 6×108) than I might need…which means more money. However, if it is a much better machine than the General then I am willing to do that.

What I need is an EXCELLENT 90 degree angle that stays put and also trouble free operation. If I go with the General, I will probably go with the 6×89 with oscillating belt.
