I might be able to swing the price of a cyclone. I've been looking at the Griz 2hp, problem is I'll need to buy the stand and there's no remote. I was checking out Grizzly's site and they have the Shop Fox 2hp $55.00 cheaper and it comes with the stand and a remote. I've seen some reviews on the Grizz but nothing on the Shop Fox, anyone have any knowledge on the SF?

I have the grizzly 2 hp cyclone, mine came with remote. I bolted 2×6's to concrete wall then lagged cyclone to 2×6's. Have had mine for 3 yrs. and love it. I have about 30-40' of 8" snaplock duct with 5" drops. I allways run with 2 open. Only problem is not knowing when barrel is full. I also run an overhead air cleaner and I have no dust.

Sorry bugz it does come with the remote. I'm concerned about the vibration if I mount it to the wall. My wall is a 12' stud wall in the back of my attached garage. Do you get any droning/vibration through the wall.

747DRVR Grizz has the Shop Fox for sale on their site cheaper then Amazon has it.

I built my own from plans in a magazine. When I finished, I looked like I had been in a knife fight in old El Paso, but it works great. What's even better, after I made the top part, I got a shop to make the cone for around $30, which may have saved me a few fingers. Metal rigid ducting for the runs would be sweet, but I have found that PVC works just fine, and fits the budget. I use the gate-controlled switches, which I love.

I have a strange setup, grarage is solid concrete, so cyclone is bolted to wall. It is solid as can be. I don't get any vibration at all. however in your setup, I would think it is very likely you would get some feed back thru wall. Cyclone is loud, I would like to build a insulated wall around it some time, with some good filters as extra insurance against any leakage. between it and compressor it is plenty of noise. Hope this helps, you will not be sorry. If time allows I will post some pictures.

Yes Grizz and SF are the same company but from my understanding the SF is the higher end. I'm happ with Grizz though. Unfortunately I have not bought mine yet. And since I'm a USA man whenever possible I will buy orneida. There better than the rest from the reviews and everything else I see. (Clearvue is another but I don't like the wood carcus.

But as someone said plan your duct work, you'll find that gets really expensive. Thats why I don't have one yet.

bugz be great to see some pics

Resurrested I looked at the Oneida, to pricey for me along with the Clearvue. If I could find them on ebay or Craigslist I'd jump on them. Duct work will be pretty much the same cost no matter which one I get, still ain't cheap.

Thought about two HFs, adding the Wynn filters and a separator, but I don't have the floor space.

Gas Toolroom Engineering Machine Flooring

Fixture Gas Engineering Machine Composite material

Clay, hope this helps, I got most all of my fittings from penn state. Make sure all joints flow back to collector. I used alum pop rivets, to be able to remove, if it pluged. I used duct tape, it is falling off, am replacing that with metal tape. Hardest thing to get is, this not a vacumn, it needs air flow. If I get 4-4" gates open it loses power, but with 2 open it works the best.

Nice setup. I like the idea of being able to rotate the location of intake and the exhaust to the filter. Makes it easier to find a home for it. ? I'm leaning more towards the Grizz mainly because of what I hear of their customer service. I guess I could get some angle iron and make my own stand cheaper. Are your main lines 6"

My main lines are 7". Home made stand could save quite alot of money. if you notice green fan body, where tie downs are hanging from, the fan body is notched top and bottom and that is where cyclone hangs from. I have several grizzly machines, they have always done everything they could to help me. I always buy the best I can afford, and even my oldest machines are still going stong.
