Yeah, I never use a router without a guide, so seeing the bit isn’t an issue. It did take me a little while with my dovetail jig to have the confidence to know that the guide bushing was where I thought it would be, but given some of the horror stories I’ve run across when carbide has decided to separate from bit (and, yes, I’ve broken at least one bit by trying to cut too much too fast), I’ve decided I don’t really want to be able to see the bit.
