Hey, John…
I’ve used both, but typically block the slides behind the FF. I use a full-length strip, because it’s easier to square with the bottom (front) than to use separate blocks. I use a pre-cut stick to register my height against the bottom of the cabinet, then use the metal brackets to mount the rear.

Long Island, huh? I was born and raised in Brooklyn, but we moved to the Island when I was 14. I graduated Lynbrook HS then went to Nassau Community.
