I try to discourage my customers from using these type of products (Old English, Liquid Gold, etc) because of the buildup that occurs from repeated use. I once tried to “spruce up” some kitchen cabs that had been regularly “cleaned” with Liquid Gold, and had to give up when I found that the “gunk” buildup was going to require a total strip and refinish to look right.

I would experiment with BLO or Tung oil and use that if it doesn’t change the color of the wood too much.
