Does this qualify?
I was shooting cedar lining into a chest that was made out of mahogany. The chest was constructed using stiles around delicate fretwork. I measure how far down to go with the brad nails on the cedar lining. Then I got sidetracked. While sidetracked, I measured something else that was about two inches more than the original measurement I took for the cedar lining task. Then I went back to the cedar lining and promptly shot about ten brad nails through that delicate fretwork before I thought about what I’d done, ruining over a week’s worth of work and, not to mention the loss of wood I’d just created by ruining the project.
No, it could not be repaired. I also discovered that day just how much damage 18ga. brad nails can do to 1/4” luan plywood when fired through the back of it at a fast pace. It looked like my beautiful trunk had been in the way of a drive by shooting.
