I just picked up a Craftsman 10" Radial Arm Saw. 125.00$ off of Craigs list. It has all the upgrade parts. No pictures yet. Will post some later once I get it upgraded. It has the raising and lowering crank on the front. My previous saw had it on the post at the back. It came with two brand new factory table tops. And the complete guard upgrade kit. It has the owners manual for the guard kit, but not for the saw it's self, anyone know where or have a manual for saw model number 113.198110. I want to thank my wife who bought me the saw for Christmas. She has purchased most of my tools for me. I also picked up the other day a Bandfile, 23 guage nailer and a thickness guage from Harbour Freight, I'll post some pictures and a review.

Sorry I don't think I can help you with a manual..I did have one but not sure if it is still around (I will have a look and get back to ya)...... However I just got rid of a very similar saw, just this past weekend too!!
I also had a 113, model that is subject to the recall. .. See this page However mine, the guard is not available…. I also had the Canadian version. I used this saw for a number of years with out any incidence. It was a good piece of equipment, but one that I just don't use enough to keep (need the room). Funny how things go sometimes, I get ride of one,and you get one….. And no, the one you got is not mine… LOL !

I've had my RAS (Emerson-built like yours) since 1978. Mine was NOT involved in the recall. If you take the time to set your saw correctly and use it safely, you will enjoy it. Get good blades (I use Freud thin kerf rip and crosscut). Thin kerf will compensate for the lack of "killer" horsepower on the saw.
Keep in mind that the 23 ga. pin gun is NOT for structural nailing.
Be safe, and enjoy.

Ray,

There is a Craftsman operations manual on the Old Wood-Working Machines website (www.owwm.com). Although it is not specific to your model, it does an excellent job of explaining both basic and advanced operations.

As someone new to Radial Arm Saws (I bought mine from Craigslist with no idea how to use one), I found this manual to be extremely helpfull. You can find it on the OWWM website under "Craftsman", "Publications", "Radial Arm Saws", "1969". It is 113 pages long.

There is also a Filed Service Manual on that site that is helpful in troubleshooting any setup problems.

Ed,
Thanks for the link on the RAS manual. I still don't know if I'll ever rip on mine, but I really learned quite a bit about using the drill chuck attachment and some other uses I hadn't thought of. I wish mine held it's accuracy a bit better but this opens up more options for the tool than just cross-cutting machine.
thanks!
T.

Hello,
I have a 1978 (or 1979) Craftsman 12'' Radial Arm Saw. Model #KK48BA-1-6, Part #63202, MFG #L6990.
Unfortunately, I do not know the exact year of but I believe its '78. I am trying to get the blade off but I am having trouble and I do not have the manual or correct parts for it. I tried typing the information into the Sears Parts Direct website but it could not find it. Does anyone know how to acquire the manual for this. Also, do you know what is the right tool to use to get the blade off?
Thank you for your help!

That doesn't sound like a Craftsman model number. They are almost always 3 digits, a period and another 5-6 digits…like the 113.198110 mentioned in the original post. In any case, the nut should come off the same as the others. It takes 2 wrenches (sorry, not sure what size) a very thin open one for the arbor (between the blade and the motor) and generally a closed end one for the nut. With both wrenches on, you push the one on the nut down toward the table. A suggestion for the arbor wrench, Park makes bicycle wrenches (like this one) that are good for that. They are metric, so you have to get one a little larger to fit the arbor wrench flats but that won't matter if it's just a little loose.
