I have a Steel City Hybrid Table Saw. I turned the bevel wheel to get a 45 degree blade. Now, the wheel won't turn the blade back. The knob just spins even if I tighten it.
Looks like I need to take the table top off to get inside. Any thoughts or ideas?
The good news is that your saw has cabinet mounted trunnions, so the top should come off pretty easily. Be on the look out for any shims between the top and the cabinet, and be sure to return them exactly where they were. Hopefully some exploration will reveal the problem. Good luck!
BTW, which SC hybrid do you have? (they've offered several)
That did not work as planned. Try page 38 for an exploded view and page 39 for a parts list. This manual is for my saw and may not be the same as your but will hopefully point you in the direction of the damaged part.
It's really not too bad. Loosen the 4 bolts that hold the table to the corners of the cabinet. With some help, you should be able to lift the wings, main table, and fence all together. Note where any shims, and be sure to put them back where they were.
You might even be able to reach the handwheel shaft from inside the motor door, depending on which model you have.
