Food grade linseed oil is widely available.
It is also known as flax seed oil.
It can be heat treated to make it dry quicker.

I eat milled flax seed daily.

The problem occurs with thinking that wood finishing products contain food grade components – they do not.
Linseed oil intended for wood finishing may contain metallic hardeners that DO NOT magically go away after the finish is “cured”. Also, wood finishing products are not held to food purity requirements. Contaminants may occur and there is no requirement to test for food purity.

Food-grade linseed oil (flax oil) is a safe bet.
