I'm looking to build an outfeed table for my table saw. Hoping for some suggestions on the best way to attach. Right now I do move the saw around so something removable would be ideal but realize that I might need to miss out on mobility to enhance safety. The picture shows the saw back view.
I just use a $35 utility table from Costco. Works like a charm and unlike specialized outfeed tables can be moved around or away from the saw for longer stock, turned with shorter or longer end to the saw, and with a table cloth still used for its intended purpose in case you have a suprize! visit from your relatives.
Thanks for the suggestions. Hoping to have a table that actually attaches so the surfaces are level. Right now I have some brackets that I can clamp on a saw horse but does not feel as stable as I would like.
Have you checked out the Paulk Workbench yet? It's designed to be portable AND your table saw would 'hang' off the bench, creating the desired outfeed table that you want. Here's a link to one of many already here on LJs.
+1 for 716's suggestion. You could fashion a way for the mobile cart to attach to the saw and unattach so it could be rolled around to double as a mobile assembly or work table. At the right height it could also be an outfeed table for your planer. I have three rolling carts that can work in concert or be attached together to make a larger assembly platform.
i had the exact same saw. at the time i was doing on site cabinet building and installation. i thought about building an outfeed table for it, but since i wanted a 50" rip capacity i purchased the rousseau ts stand. bc i was so impressed with the stand, i ended up ordering (2) outfeed tables. they were like $150 at the time. the saw, with the stand, cut as accurately as a cabinet saw. the rousseau outfeed tables had a U shaped hook that would rest on the square shape tubing of the ts stand. it would lift off. bc it was a jobsite saw, it wasn't that big of deal that the outfeed tables where 1/4" lower than the ts itself. i did not do much bevel ripping which requires perfectly flush support on the outfeed side. i sold this saw on craigslist, so i cant give you very good picks on how the outfeed table attached. but this is the pic i have, maybe you can get an idea.
This is the one, cheaper than hinges to a dedicated outfeed table, plus to everything mentioned above capable keeping a lot of junk even when the saw is put away.
I appreciate all the suggestions and now need to critically look at my space and see what I can fit. Like MacB's setup (going to check that source). Also need to look more at the idea of Yonak and 716 for something multipurpose/mobile.
I'm actually going to start building something similar to TWW's first outfeed table. I'm planning to add locking casters so I can wheel it around as needed and use it for more than just and outfeed table. However, being that you have the portable type table saw, I would definitely look into the Paulk Table and hang the saw off the end.
