Could you screw in from the bottom side that overhangs wall thickness? Or, maybe I m envisioning it wrong.

Think of a wall that has a square cutout and then a counter built into the bottom part.
The only king of screw might be some kind of angled pocket hole kind of screw but I wouldn’t have much room to get into it.
