Yesterday I posted a topic about a couple of hand saws that were in a bin of old tools that I won at a local auction. At that time yesterday the saws were just the first things I grabbed off the top of the bin. I was at work so I couldn't spend time going through them… Well last night I got home and went through the bin and was amazed by how good of a deal I got… As I said yesterday I won the auction for 17 dollars. The auction was online and they only had one picture and the description was "Tub of Misc old tools". I took a gamble and was expecting mostly junk but I think I got really lucky with this one..

Here are a few more pictures of some of the tools I got. The first picture is a Stanley Miter box #116 and the 2nd picture is another miter box made by Craftsman. The Craftsman miter box is really neat. I plan on keeping the Craftsman one. With the saws I posted yesterday and this I think I will be doing a lot more cutting by hand. Seems like I am turning more and more into a hand tool guy as I get these old tools and restore them.

The last pictures are of a Portable Power Tools Inc. Model 250 drill… This thing is in damn near mint condition. I did no cleaning for the pictures. It comes in the original metal tool box and also has the following attachments a a grinding wheel, wire brush, disc sander and two buffing pads. Also has the original instruction sheet. I don't think this thing got much use at all if any. Plugged it in and it works fine.

I would like to know how old the Craftsman miter box is as I could not find that when I looked online. I did find some info on the drill but have no idea what the value may be. I may be interested in selling the drill.. There was also a power tools inc power sander in the box but I didn't take pics of that yet… To much to take in for one night…

The Craftsman looks great. Sorry I can't help you with an age. Definitely put it to use. The little Stanley, set it up for your boys to use. Kids often have a hard time with sawing because they don't control the saw's direction and angle well. The miterbox can make sawing fun for them too.

The metal bodied drill…. ooff bad memories for me of using a drill like that (a little more modern version) with some bad wiring. If the drill has no three pronged plug, hang it on a wall and don't use it (safety hazard). Either that or let the possum play with it ;)

niicee score with that box :)
put the mittersawbox to use but see if you can change the board to preserve the old
or at least use a newboard on top of the old to protect it , the original have some historic in it
you don´t want to loose

and the drill waow to see one in such prestine shape thank´s for sharing it

I second Swirt of to the wall or in a display cabinet with it in that shape its maybee not
have more value but I think its a collecter for the future and in the meanwhile it can look awesome
with some light on in your shop shining back to you besides other tool you want to retire with time

take care

I doubt the drill hardly or even ever left its box.. The buffing pad attachments are clean as new, probably never used, the grinding wheel also looks to have never been used. There is an adapter that you lock in the drill chuck that holds the attachments and thats in the box too. Even the sanding pad with what I would think is the original sand paper is still there…

Also as I said there was also a power sander that was a clamp and sand style sander. I didn't look it over too close yet but it too appeared to be in the same shape as the drill. The sander is also in its original metal box..
