My shop is wired for 220. I would probably have to run another wire and slap in a 220v breaker, but that isn’t a problem though. Just have to be careful :)

Only thing that would deter me from the 8” for right now is the fact my shop is only 12×20. So far i’ve got a 1023SL ts, bench, router table, miter saw bench, air compressor, planer, band saw, lumber rack, 2 shelves, kobalt bench, 3 vises, heavy duty grinder. I’m pinched for space :(

Ok, i’m looking at the 604 grizzly right now vs the jet. I’d still get the 8”, but until I expand my shop it’s just a tad too big I think. What I would like to do is when that time comes and I need to go from a 6” to an 8” is to sell my jointer and get the 8”. That would be 3-5 years I would imagine though. I may not need to go from 6-8, I usually build smaller projects such as entertainment consoles, hutches, book cases, buffets, etc…. Who knows, I’ve not went down that path yet :)

So i’m looking at now perhaps the following between the griz and jet.
- resale value
- ease of maintenance
- quality of machine

All I can think of for now.

Thanks guys,

Kevin
