Al, most of the millwork shops will have access to 1” material.

It is quite common in this area, but not at the retail outlets as you mentioned.

Call a wholesaler for sheet goods, sometimes you get lucky and they just give you one.
I have bought the 1” material in 5’ x 10’ sheets, so very heavy to handle.
