You did not say if the table was glued together. This can affect which method is available for use.

If you can dissemble the table I would drill a very small pilot hole and then use my scroll saw to cut out the drawer opening and the drawer front. A scroll saw blade will produce a very thin kerf. This this method the drawer front has the same grain as the table front.
