Had a rough day today, went to the vet to pick up the cremated remains of the beautiful Rottie shown in my avatar pic. I was okay until I got to the car and realized that going for a ride was one of Sophie's favorite things but this time I wouldn't see her little nub of a tail wag like crazy. She's in a wooden box now and she's on a shelf next to Mystic, her predecessor and they're both in the shop with me.. thank god for the unconditional love of these four legged angels..
R.I.P. Good Dog Sophie!
I share your grief. I had to put down my, Maggie, a Yellow Lab. She was the best dog I ever had. I 've got a small wooden sign a few feet away from me right now. "A Dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself." I still miss Maggie everyday.
I'm sorry to hear of your loss. I've never known a roti, but my wife knew several growing up and she says contrary to their looks and reputation they are big goofballs! Was Sophie like that?
I know how heartbreaking this is as I have buried a lot of "best friends" over the years. My advice is to get another ASAP. They will never replace the ones you lose but they do make the recovery better.
We get so close and the best thing, is no matter how bad a day, they are there for us.
