I was wondering has anyone hear bought a truck or trailer just for there woodworking hobby? I have vthe want for aq enclosed trailer I just dsont knoow why
I have a pickup truck, but it wasn't bought specifically for woodworking. I have with the exception of about a 3 year period, always had trucks of some sort, pickup truck, van or whatever… You ever tried moving a completed book case in a Toyota Celica?
I built myself a small 4'x8' utility trailer using some dimensional lumber, plywood, and the guts of an old boat trailer. Total cost was about $80-100 and it works fine for carting wood and other large items around.
I have a 16ft landscape trailer I was looking at the enclosed weather tite for some part time storage untill I can build a new. And then use it to hall some lumber and if I decide to start selling some of my creations use it to haul them I do have a truck but again like weather tight I. Might trade in my landscasper on a 16ft one I haven't used the landscaper yet this year or moved it
I used to have a full sized pick-up truck which was great for hauling lumber.
I traded for a Colorado Crew Cab and I put a cap on the back. That is not a good truck for hauling lumber, but a basic 4×8 utility trailer works great. I bought a basic (cheap) trailer with steel mesh and I modified it with a treated plywood floor and treated 2×12 front, sides and removable tail gate.
Tools in vehicles are a good place to get them ripped off if you don't need them to be mobile.
