I grew up in an artificial world with a silver Christmas tree adorned with red glass balls, that spun slowly on a revolving stand, while a rotating color wheel lit up the background. It was cold like the tin foil it was made of and although I loved the season, I always hated that tree. And then, when I met my wife, I swore that we will never have an artificial Christmas tree in our house. It’s been 20 years now. All of our trees have been fresh cut. This one is a Frasier Fir. It’s our favorite type and it smells so good. There’s something about coming home from work to the pine aroma of a fresh tree.

I also built her a window box years ago that she decorates every year after the Begonias have passed.

Happy Holidays to all of you!
