FWIW – I have a 2 hp (110 volt) TS and, with respect to power, I consider it barely acceptable. Even with a sharp thin kerf blade it struggles with 6/4 hardwood. When I use a dado, I have to take many passes and move pretty slow. I didn’t want to do the wiring for 220 volt. I regret that now.

I say all this on this thread to say that I would be leery of any TS with only 1.75 hp.
