Paul, you should definitely keep the lift as purplev suggests. I have this saw and on occasion it doesnt click into place. It does take a bit of a stomp, and I might have adjusted a few things once or twice before I was really happy. The thing is that if you ever end up putting a DC on it, then the lift lets you have the dust chute and the mobile capabilities. Just a suggestion.
