Hey Jordan,
What it actually is is an RSS aggregator. What they do is subscribe to a feed that lumberjocks provides. You can literally make a site totally on new information daily by using these feeds. An example is most news websites that are not name brand use feeds. This way a guy makes money off of ad revenue, without actually writing anything. In our case it seems he only posts them as links from lumberjocks. As long as we use a signature we will protect our work. I don't see anyone actully taking credit for it. What this actually does is boost your relevance in the serach results of google, and others. Meaning your relevant in relation to woodworking/crafting.

Wow I hope that makes sense.

I can't seem to get there. Wikipedia seems to indicate that the site no longer exists. My question is whether pubsub is another person's idea of 'harvesting' other peoples' RSS feeds in other sites. I'm interested in knowing more, though I haven't heard much since this thread http://lumberjocks.com/topics/15915 came and went. My LJ project postings are still being featured there, and I found them by sheer coincidence.
