Posted on Selling my lathe-SOLD!

I have to confess, I’m the person she sold her lathe to. Although I already have a lathe, I’ve always wanted a larger one, so I spent a couple of nights dreaming about buying it. My eagerness won out. Barb said, ”this will be your anniversary gift from me”, which is tomorrow. My Grandson-in-Law was kind enough to drive me there to pickup the lathe. He’s a superb Guy, because when I asked him if he could help me. He said yes! even before he knew what I wanted him for. My son Steve also helped, & we got a chance to spend some quality time together. Cathy lives about 35 miles from us in the country, on an isolated road about mile off the main highway. This is the first time I was able to meet Cathy, & her husband. They both share a very nice workshop on the end of their house, actually I think the workshop is a little larger than the living quarters. That’s the way to live, they seemed like a very happy couple. Cathy gave us a tour of the shop, & also showing us some of her work. I felt a little sad about leaving, & taking her lathe, But we’ll try taking good care of it, plus have some fun turning. She threw in a couple of boxes of wood. I’m sure I’ll enjoy making something with it. I’ll start a blog about my new purchase in the near future. Thank You Cathy. -- -** You are never to old to set another goal or to dream a new dream ****************** Dick, & Barb Cain, Hibbing, MN. http://www.woodcarvingillustrated.com/gallery/member.php?uid=3627&protype=1 |
