I agree with you. I’ve owned several Stanley Baileys, several Millers Falls, several Records, and a Stanley Bedrock. The Baileys are generally very good (all brands had good and “less good” eras), but overall I find that the better Records and Millers Falls feel more substantial than the better Baileys…obviously the Bedrock too. I’m also kind of partial to the blue. #1s and #2s are very rare for nearly any brand, so will be very expensive. #3-#8 are typically pretty common. Ironically, I’ve purchased 3 Record planes from across the pond…do you check Ebay UK?
