It’s possible that Fulton has more than one line or may have quality “highs and lows” throughout their tenure. I’ve got two that work fairly well. I’d say mine are similar to some of the less prestigious modern Stanleys, but not on par with their more desirable older ones.

Yours looks older, and possibly heftier. Sargent made some very respectable planes. A #2 is a little rare. Was the sole repaired on it?
