Well, I’ve just logged off from work, threw another log in the stove, made a cup of coffee, and am now ready to start my Christmas weekend. It’ll be a quiet Christmas for my wife and me this year. The threat of ice on the roads near Boston has been the deciding factor this year, but then we prefer quiet holidays. It’s been mostly snow showers today in the deep woods of northern New Hampshire, but the forecast is for sun tomorrow. I received a really neat toy catalog in the mail yesterday. It’s from Lee Valley and Veritas – some very nice tools in it. I find myself enjoying looking at the projects and reading the blogs and forums here in LJ’s. I could become intimidated by the fine quality of work you folks do, as I am just a beginner at this, but instead of being intimidated, I’ll use this as a place of inspiration and learning. I’ve already improved my mortise and tenon cutting, thanks to Stefang’s blog. Thank you all for adding a bit to my days, and I wish all of you a peaceful and safe Christmas. -- John from Horse Shoe |
