In Europe we mostly use a combined planer thicknesser all built into one cabinet. Not always but most modern units are like this.I have to be careful as what we call a planer you call a jointer and what we call a thicknesser I believe you guys call a thickness planer.I think that's correct, anyway I have a nice new modern planer with thicknesser all in one unit but recently I also bought a multico planer with a sepearate thicknesser attachment does anyone klnow how this attachment works ? Also were they used at all in USA? It is a large heavy strange looking contraption but it all came together with no instructions it's an oldie they don't make them anymore. Now before any one asks me whay I bought this unit I wanted to have to sepearate units as I find this easier rather than knock down building up everytime I want to plane (joint) or thickness (plane) .I guess I am just curious about how this little monster works.kindest regards Alistair
