Finally retired from the oil patch, trying to get my shop organized while learning about building things. Am a absolute 74 year-old tyro, even though my grandpap was a woodworker all his life. After having six feet of water in my house twice in four years, walked away from it and ten acres, bought a higher (much higher) acre and Miss Honey Ma'am (my wife of 56 years) and I built a 2200 square foot home out of landscape timbers. That was a labor intensive project, for sure. Have built a few small things in my poorly organized and equipped shop. Looking forward to joining one of the best group of folks I have ever had the pleasure of eavesdropping on.

In the first portion of this Odyssey, I didn’t know how to post pics, so I just set the stage as a narrative. Stage #2, The Travail, will, I hope give you some idea of how this thing went together. It seems that the dog ate the early pre-dig...
In 1984, the beautiful little creek behind our house donated us six feet of water, along with the usual 15 inches of mud, silt. dead snakes, etc. We drug everything we owned after 28 years of marriage out to the front yard, stripped all the drywal...
