Laguna Lathes/Nevermind - 1 reply Boy am I finding a use for the extra space in my new shop. I have the option to pick up a demo model of the Laguna platinum 18/47 lathe. Usually go for about 2k – this one is $700 with tax and shipping (and still has some of the original warranty). Festool Domino - 35 replies Could anyone with one of these share their thoughts on this. I have a chance of acquiring a used one at a good price because the guy selling it does not find it useful? I have a bisquit jointer (porter-cable) that is getting a bit of an antique…but even a new bisquit is cheaper than a slightly used domino? What do you think? |

A good source of Material? - 3 replies I’ve been looking through the posts and such but dont find any mention of a good, reasonable source for good project material. I believe I’ve done like most….looked through advertisements….checked with friends…etc….etc…Some stuff occassionaly falls in place for me….but certainly not enough to feed... |

230v is it a luxury or necessity? - 7 replies I am currently wiring up my converted shop and wondering whether it is necessary/beneficial to hire a sparky to lay in 230v circuit or circuits? I am confident in my ability to handle the 115v circuits and load center…but not so much comfortable with higher voltages/phases. I know about the differences in horsepower on tools using 230v... |
