Excellent tool for hollowers

Excellent tool for hollowers

I bought this tool some time ago, based on a recommendation I received from a good friend that does gallery class production turnings, and have been running it through it’s paces. Now that I have it’s measure, it is time to do a write up. This tool is made in New Zealand – and definitely has excellent engineering and quality control. It arrived in first class condition well packaged and extremely well protected. The instruction book is a bit on the slim side…not...

Great replacement for Dremel

Great replacement for Dremel

Santa was a bit late this year….but he came through with this Proxxon Rotary Tool. My 1-1/2 year old dremel passed away and even new brushes would not revive it. I did some research on these tools and found that this one was made to be used continuously and had a brushless motor. Since there were two sockets on the adapter I was also able to hook up my 220 planer and run it with the same suc...

I just replaced my old pancake compressor ( A Porter Cable – a few gasps and then gave up the ghost – after about 9 years of very hard service) with this model from Hitachi. It was very reasonably priced even if not on sale!...and has more power and more capacity then my old model. So far it works great!....and I am very happy with the extra capacity. I use the mini compressor’s to blow off tools, work areas, projects and to run finish nailers, staplers, framing nailer...

A great source of exotic woods

A great source of exotic woods

I had the pleasure of finding a wonderful source of exotic woods for projects and turnings. Searching through the internet search engines, I came accross a posting for a small company located about 20 or so miles away from my home. They listed some very nice items….and had pictures which I could view and select. I went through their postings and found numerous one of a kind pieces. I selected only a few of the ones I wanted and purchased with an indication that I would pick them up....
