Nice, ..... it’s 5 am on a Sunday morning,

the wife is sleeping in, got my cup of Joe, got my woogie pants and house slippers on, laptop is on,

and I got a fuzzy little puppy named Tyler sittin in my lap.
.
.
Good morning,

This is a blog about my many adventures with my jobsite shop dogs.
and, Man,.... have I got stories to tell you!

But, I’d like to start out with a short introduction: Meet Tyler, our 10 month old Golden Retriever.
.

We got him when he was just a baby, .... he was so cute,

We called him fuzzy britches.
.

.

Look out! ... we’re going to the park!

He’s the son of two guide dogs for a wounded vet in a wheelchair.

Nice family, trying to make it on their own, bred their two retrievers a few times and we were blessed
with a very special little puppy.

Maybe I’m just like a new parent, bragging on their kid, who knows. He sure is sweet, ... hard not to.
He’s a new chapter for us, another part of our life story to remember and celebrate.
.
.
How sweet …. you brought me a ball …. good boy.

So, .... you like hanging out with me while I’m on the laptop, huh?
.

.

He’s just a dog, I know.
... seems silly to care so much about a dog that just wants attention, more food and likes to poop a lot.

But look at that face … don’t you want to just squish him and hug him like a fuzzy teddy bear?
and that puppy smell … tell me you don’t love little puppy kisses.
.

.

Yes Tyler, I see your ball. let me finish this and I’ll play with you ….. dfrhs7tiii9o …

Hey, Stop that … we’ll look at Jasper on Facebook later, .... put your foot down.

.

.

My wife Lynn and I just celebrated our 32nd year anniversary. Yep, she’s still with me. he he.
I’m pretty lucky to have her. We never had kids though, tried but it just didn’t happen.

That’s why we became dog lovers. Our dogs have been like our kids.
.

.
.

We don’t dress them up like dolls but they do have a nice selection of bandanas and party hats.
They love to “Go for a ride?” in the big van, if it’s not too hot.
.

.

WHAT, .... Tyler….. wanna go out?.... no? .... what?
I know … you want to see Jasper … sigh …. Ok, but let me finish this …. good boy.

.

.

You might get a birthday card of them in a birthday hat or posing for a Halloween picture, but that’s all.
No goofy costumes or fancy haircuts with bows for these boys, ... no thank you.
.

.

We like to have play dates with our neighbor’s dogs and go for walks together too.
.

TYLER! .... STOP … Don’t throw the ball …. You’re going to spill my coffee, son.
.

.

He’s been really so good so far.
We take him for walks to the park every day and teach him how to climb up on the kid’s playground fort.
.

.
He loves to hang out in the shop too.
Doesn’t seem to mind the loud noises at all.
.

.

TYLER! .... NO! we’re not going to look at Jasper on Facebook now.
.

.

I’m sure he will make a great jobsite dog someday, just like my other jobsite dogs,
well behaved, he listens and does what he’s told, he …. &%^$^#<<< ?

++#%^&#$%^& ........ ??
#$%^&

%&

&)++++ # ...... !!!
.
.

TYLER! ...... you spilled coffee all over my $%#@%^ Laptop!
.
.
NOoooo!!!!!
…....... & ... %$ >>>>> sparks …… sizzle ….. smoke

…. bip
.
.
.
.
.
.

edited from wife’s laptop:

Will Mark get his coffee soaked laptop fixed by next week’s episode?
.

or, ..... will this be the end of coffee time with fuzzy britches?
.

.
.
.
...... stay tuned.
.
.

Note: Tyler actually recognizes and watches Jasper, Dana Perino’s dog on TV, who has become a regular
on the hit show, The Five and on the internet… no joke! big fan.
.

.
.

... like I said, too cute …... that’s my boy.

My Labradors will tell you that although they have a very guilty look at times, they actually never do anything wrong.

Hey Mark, perfect timing.

My wife and I just spent the last two days at a dog competition – first time ever. Our dog trainer also trains K9 dogs and this competition was really for them. We have a 1 year old golden retriever and we were talked into having her compete. I mean these dogs are just spectacular to watch. They jump walls over 7 feet high, long jump 11 feet, do the bite suit stuff, fetch objects like you never have seen, and all kinds of other weird stuff. All German Shepards and Belgian Malinois against our little Retriever. Needless to say our Sophie failed miserably – and proud of it.

All this to say that you end up doing the strangest things when you own a dog. Not sure if this is how I want to spend my Sunday mornings. I think I like yours better.

Steve

You can see my wife and Sophie over on the left next to some of the other contestants. Ha.

Monte – Labradors are great too. We have a 14 yr. friendship with a neighbor’s ol Lab named Ranger. He was best buds with Jack and Abbey and now Hunter swimming down at the lake. Almost crossed the bridge a few times but he still walks past us and around the block everyday. He was a trained hunting bird dog too.

Hey Holli, thanks. now you tell me! Ha! needed a new laptop anyway. Tyler chewed thru the cord and the electric tape from the repair is coming off so, he’s chewing on that now. Sometimes, he pushes my hand off my mouse so I pay attention to him….Did I mention the teeth marks on the mouse?

Steve – that picture is classic! I love it Ha! those snooty German Sheppard’s always showing off. they’re no fun!
I’ll bet you had a good time. Looked like it! Tyler would be out of control around that many dogs, at the moment. We’ve been working him everyday but the neighborhood kids are out and come running when he comes by.

They had a play date today with Tyler’s aunt, Athena and all three of them went swimming for the first time after winter. He was only a few months old the first time he went in the lake.

Typical retriever… like a duck to water.
