Born & raised in the drier hinterlands of eastern Oregon, I have found myself living and loving life in the south of Sweden.
With an education focus on sculpture in the realms of glass and metal, I've ventured further away into the areas of wood and soon ceramics as well. Drawing and a bit of painting also fills in the time for some of my creative needs.
Since July 2007, I've been renovating a late 1800's adobe house here in Sweden and it has taken most of my time away from my art, though I am being creative in my renovating as some of my pictures may show. I'll hopefully be finished with the house by the end of 2009 and will begin on converting the large barn to a sculpture studio. Can't wait for that to be!

Hello Rdlaurance,

Thank y’all for your warm words of welcome. I’ve worked with wood and wood working tools/equipment one way or another since I was about 12 y.o., so I guess my arteries are a bit clogged with sawdust. It feels good to back in the dust again. Hope I can inspire others on this site as I’ve noted there is great inspiration for me as well.

Thanks Robin… if your are interested in some of my other (non-wood) creations check out my site at http://picasaweb.google.com/RDLAURANCE.
Like you and your husband, I’m in the middle of a massive housebuilding (rather renovating) project. A mid 1800’s adobe house here in the south of Sweden, that I began about two years ago. My mate and I will move in (though will still be working on the house) hopefully by late summer. Parts of the house date back to the 1700’s we believe.
