delta DC-380 THICKNESS PLANER INFORMATION

hello everyone new on site today… picked up a thickness planer today delta model dc-380 15inch planer. wanted to know about operation and if side roller are needed in order to use properly.. did not come with machine.. will pick up machine in morning.. any comments or info. also maintenance manual?????

I have had 2 DC 380’s. First 20+ yrs ago did not have rollers, just flat laminated out feed tables. 2nd has rollers. real easy to uses. I don’t think you need rollers. Long boards need to be supported coming out or you will get planer “snipe”

I don’t think the rollers or outfeed tables are necessary – I’ve had one for over four years and, although I’d like to have either, I haven’t found they’re necessary. Here’s a link to Delta’s site for the manual
