Although H-F has some good power tools this is NOT one of them. Way underpowered. Sloppy run out—at least 1/8th wobble on a longer bit even having been re-positioned in the chuck many times. Depth control is real JUNK! Table is not square to the bit, It does have a nice switch location, handles, (although it takes lock -tight to keep them tight, they are comfortable and easy on the hands. Man what a store! Kid in the candy store is the only apt description. Super friendly help and just a wonderful experience. Worth a special trip if you are looking for tools and even reasonably close. I will be going back too.

This saw is a 1952 Craftsman magnetic scroll saw. It does not have a motor. It is an electromagnet that pulls and releases a spring steel plate that has the blade hook attached. It Has an upper spring steel arm holding the upper blade hook. It uses 5” pin end blades. The capacity is limited to about 1/2 inch or less. The saw has been modified and is now a 20”.
